Abstract

A new type of cyclone wet electrostatic precipitator was designed and placed at the end of the power plant. It can effectively remove fine particles and aerosol pollutants represented by PM2.5. It combines the cyclone dust removal and electrostatic dust removal mechanisms so that dust particles are driven into the dust collecting plate under the combined action of the cyclone centrifugal force and the electric field. The dust particles are then captured in the wet cleaning environment. The flow field performance, electric field performance (volt-ampere characteristics and plate current density), and dust removal efficiency of the proposed dust collector were evaluated. Mechanistic analysis and performance test of synergistic removal of fine particles in coal-fired flue gas by multi-field coupling showed that the internal flow field of the dust collector conformed to the flow field characteristics of the cyclone, and the internal electric field performance was excellent. The dust removal efficiency of L1000D130 corona pole and L750D80 corona pole dust collector reached 98.04% and 97.59%, respectively. Under different wind speeds, the designed dust collector also exhibited high removal efficiency for fine particles. It can be used as a flue gas treatment end-device for coal-fired power plants.
