Abstract

In this work a new methodology for Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) with the ability to address dependence and feedback among criteria and their interrelations is proposed. Although a variety of MCDM methods have been developed during the past years, Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCMs) consist an alternative, interesting and promising research direction in decision support. The proposed FCM-based method, exploiting the natural FCMs ability to effectively represent concepts interactions, offers a dynamic and flexible way for ranking alternatives on the basis of different scenarios regarding the nature of causal relationships between criteria. The method is validated on the basis of a robot selection problem.
