Abstract
Purpose: Previous reports have claimed that MammoSite brachytherapy has resulted in superior coverage of the planned target volume (PTV) relative to interstitial implants (IJROBP 52, 4, 2002, 1132–1139). However, this prior comparison has only been reported with older interstitial techniques with orthogonal film dosimetry. This dosimetric analysis compares mammosite implants with image-guided multi-catheter implants with 3D CT-based treatment planning.
