Abstract

In this paper a design is proposed using parallel coupled lines which provides a multi bandpass asymmetric frequency response, after connecting proposed design in shunt to the two port network. Asymmetry considered in this paper is because of the passband bandwidth. Asymmetrical nature of the passband allows the proposed design to use in L and S bands applications. Bandwidth control and the variations in center frequency are also analyzed using the design parameters such as length and width of the coupled line, spacing between the coupled lines. Fractional bandwidth obtained using the proposed design is 55.4 GHz for first passband and 58.9GHz for second passband. Insertion loss provided by the first and second pass-band is 0.23dB, 0.32dB respectively and return loss is greater than 13.5dB. Mathematical analysis of the proposed design is presented which is verified with the full-wave electromagnetic simulator, good agreement is obtained between simulated results and mathematical analysis.
