Abstract

Sjögren's syndrome is an immunological disorder characterized by progressive lymphocyte destruction of exocrine glands and is often associated with autoimmune diseases. Anti-Ro/SSA and anti-La SSB antibodies have a high prevalence in Sjögren's syndrome and are closely associated with fetal loss, recurrent abortions, neonatal lupus, and congenital complete atrioventricular block and less frequently with fetal valvulopathy. We report a case of antepartum fetal death in a patient with occult Sjögren′s syndrome. This disease should be included in the study of antepartum fetal death, even in asymptomatic cases.
