Abstract

Preschool teachers are an important factor in determining the quality of preschool education. Currently, the new Early Childhood Education Program (ECE) is being renewed in the direction of a competency approach, especially with SEL (emotional-social) as the focus. Social contact is a necessary requirement to improve the professional capacity of preschool students at preschool teacher training institutions. In this article, we focus on introducing core social-emotional (SEL) competencies, thereby recommending some solutions to training preschool teachers towards a competency-based approach (SEL) in schools. Vietnam's colleges and universities contribute to further improving the quality of training to meet the current requirements of reforming preschool education in the direction of approaching learners' capabilities.
