Abstract
Abstract The magnetism of Rh(0 0 1) layers epitaxially grown on Ag(0 0 1) in multilayered structures [Ag(20 A)/Rh( t )/Sn(2 A)/Rh( t )] ×30 /Ag(50 A), t =2, 4 A was studied using the 119 Sn monatomic layers as a Mossbauer probe. The crystallographic structure of the multilayers was examined by X-ray diffraction in the high and low angle regions. The 119 Sn Mossbauer spectra show that the Rh(0 0 1) layers in the grown multilayers are nonmagnetic at room temperature.
