Abstract

By Mossbauer spectroscopy we investigated some talc, chloritoschist and micaschist samples drawn from the biggest Paleozoic talc deposit in Sardinia, Italy. Compared to results of previous chemical analyses some discrepancies exist. Data show the high degree of chloritization of neighbouring micaschist. This material exhibits the presence of primary ilmenite.
