Abstract

Combined conversion electron (CEMS) and transmission γ-ray (MS) Mossbauer spectroscopy was used to study the structure of passivated layers of promoted and unpromoted iron-containing catalysts. In both catalysts the oxide-coated films were found to consist of small “paramagnetic” (at 300 K) clusters of ferric oxide.
