Abstract

Purpose: Anal canal cancer is a rare malignancy that is primarily treated with combination of radiation and chemotherapy. Brachytherapy (BT) boost has been utilized to intensify dose to the primary tumor in hopes to improve efficacy. In this study, we aim to conduct a systematic review evaluating the impact of high dose rate (HDR) BT in the management of anal canal carcinoma on clinical outcomes and toxicities.
