Abstract
El presente artículo, hace un acercamiento hacia definiciones generales de “música”, su naturaleza desde el punto de vista evolutivo y como rasgo característico de la especie humana. Desde el punto de vista de la cultura, la analiza como un lenguaje y una expresión identitaria. Finalmente, con las entrevistas a destacados musicólogos e investigadores se pretende dar luces sobre las definiciones de música nacional, música nacionalista y música ecuatoriana.
