Abstract
AbstractThis paper discusses the application of M‐ary/SS (M‐ary/Spread Spectrum) to DS/CDMA (Direct Sequence/Code Division Multiple Access) system. M‐ary/SS system can realize a high‐bit‐rate transmission while maintaining a high processing gain. On the other hand, the system requires the same number of correlators as the number of candidate spreading codes. In this study, the orthogonal code based on M‐sequence is used as the spreading sequence, in order to simplify the correlator configuration. In addition, an algorithm is proposed to realize the error‐correcting code and the transmit power control, which are necessary in DS/CDMA system. As a result of analysis by computer simulation, it is shown that the proposed system has an excellent transmission performance. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
