Abstract

AbstractAn account of the collaborative development of an MSc course in a multi‐disciplinary area of study (atomic collisions in solids) combining features of pure and applied physics and technology is given. The philosophy and aims of this course, which is operated jointly by the Universities of Salford and Sussex, the teaching and learning strategies adopted and the methodology of assessment are discussed, together with the problems and rewards of undertaking such a venture.
