Abstract
Needless to say, EBM (evidence-based medicine) is of prime importance to medical doctors and others engaged in medical service. However, now that a lot of disputes over medical treatment or litigations of medical malpractice are occurring more frequently than ever, EBM finds it impossible to remain within the frame of a "medical" problem. In other words, the issue of EBM can be settled for those concerned with medical service only when EBM is understood and practiced not only medically but also "legally" and "from a litigious viewpoint".
