Abstract

This 2-part review highlights clinical situations when MRI helps to guide management of children with radiographically occult musculoskeletal injuries. Part I covers the upper extremity, and Part II (Volume 36, Number 4) covers the lower extremity. In both parts, the value of MRI in depicting growth plate injuries and chronic stress injuries is discussed. In addition, occult Salter-Harris fractures, stress fractures, and soft tissue/ligament injuries are reviewed.
