Abstract
A 41-year-old woman presented with severe low back pain radiating down her legs and foot numbness. Neurologic examination was normal. MRI of her lumbosacral spine showed marked nerve root enlargement (figure). Motor nerve conduction studies showed conduction velocities (NCVs) in the 20–30 m/s range (tibial and fibular nerves).
