Abstract

Abstract: The parkinsonian neurotoxin MPTP was reviewed with special interest in its structural features including close analogs and its biological connections with relevant molecules able to reverse or protect against its neurotoxic effects. Thus, some fifty efficient molecules displaying structural diversities and affinities towards a number of receptors with variable known implications in neurodegenerative diseases or in the neurotoxicity of MPTP, were highlighted.
