Abstract

This paper presents fuzzy controller for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for photovoltaic system. The paper investigates the efficiency of direct coupling of dc pumping system with the photovoltaic and then when using the MPPT. The paper presents modeling and analysis for dc-dc boost converter. The pulse width modulation (PWM) of the considered converter is determined by the fuzzy controller output depending on the nature of the load and source. The insolation levels variation has been taken into account. The fizzy controller uses the error and change of error to determine the maximum power point at each insolation level. Finally comparison between fuzzy logic controller and direct connection has been carried out which has shown that, the effectiveness of fuzzy controller to draw much power and presents fast system response against change in working conditions is much better than direct coupling method.
