Abstract

Video over wireless communication (VoW) has many potential applications in the home and office environments. The emergence of two new technologies, namely Bluetooth and MPEG-4, is likely to prove useful in implementing VoW. Video transmission over a wireless channel can be made possible by transmitting MPEG-4 bit streams over Bluetooth channels. The paper addresses this aspect, and proposes three implementations: MPEG-4 over Bluetooth (MPEG4BT) via HCI (host controller interface); MPEG4BT via L2CAP; MPEG4BT via IP-over-Bluetooth.
