Sheath) were randomized to high pressure irrigation (200mmHg, n=46) or low pressure irrigation (80mmHg, n=44). Patient’s demographics, perioperative outcomes, and systemic inflammatory response (SIRS) incidence rates were compared utilizing Chi-square and Wilcoxon signed-rank test. RESULTS The mean patient’s age, sex, BMI, and other preoperative outcomes were similar in both arms. High pressure irrigation was associated with a higher SIRS incidence (46%) compared to low pressure irrigation (11%, p=0.0002). Hospital stay was statistically insignificant (p=0.7) as well as ICU admission (p=0.9) in both CONCLUSIONS High pressure irrigation fluid has a potential role in the incidence of postoperative SIRS following PCNL © 2016FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails Volume 195Issue 4SApril 2016Page: e686-e687 Advertisement Copyright & Permissions© 2016MetricsAuthor Information Mohamed Omar More articles by this author Mark Noble More articles by this author Sri Sivalingam More articles by this author Alla El Mahdy More articles by this author Ahmed Gamal More articles by this author Manoj Monga More articles by this author Expand All Advertisement Advertisement PDF downloadLoading ...
