Abstract

RESULTS: Bcl-2 and VEGF were not significantly correlated with the GR or VDT of RCC. p53 positivity was significantly correlated with GR (P1⁄40.019), VDT (P1⁄40.008) and tumor grade (P1⁄40.009). Ki-67 positivity was significantly correlated with GR (R1⁄40.351, P1⁄40.018). Multivariate analysis revealed that tumor grade (P1⁄40.015) and Ki-67 positivity rate (P1⁄40.018) were independent factors of GR; p53 positivity (P1⁄40.044) and a minor initial size of tumor (P1⁄40.044) were independent predictors of VDT <1 yr. CONCLUSIONS: Ki67 and p53 were significantly correlated with the growth of RCC. Tumor grade and Ki67 were independent factors for GR, and p53 positivity and minor initial size were independent predictors of VDT <1 yr. RCCs that are p53 positive, with a high Ki67 positivity rate and high tumor grade, have the potential for fast growth and should be extirpated early.
