Abstract

Renal lesions in TSC include cysts, angiomyolipomas (AMLs) and renal cell carcinomas; differentiation is usually possible on imaging but occasionally indeterminate lesions raise suspicion of malignancy. Biopsy of such lesions is controversial with some advocating exploration in doubtful cases. We reviewed the indications and results of percutaneous biopsy of such indeterminate renal masses in TSC patients at a tertiary referral centre in the UK.
