Abstract

In this paper, we conceive a semi-infinite moving crack between two bonded dissimilar orthotropic strips. Fourier transform has been adopted to reduce the mixed boundary value problem to a standard Wiener–Hopf equation. To determine the stress intensity factor (SIF) and crack opening displacement (COD), the Wiener–Hopf equation is solved in asymptotic sense for stress free boundary. Finally, the variation of SIF and COD is demonstrated graphically with respect to several orthotropic material parameters.
