Abstract
In light of the concepts of militant particularism proposed by David Harvey and police suggested by Jacques Ranciere, this paper analyzes the dynamics of political movements and their relationship with public space that took place in the city of Yonkers and that television miniseries Show Me a Hero (David Simon and Paul Haggis, HBO, 2015) aims to describe. The events represented in this film are taken as a paradigmatic example of the degradation and depopulation process that urban centers suffered in the United States since the early ‘80s. The final objective of this article is to put them in relation with some photographs of Jeff Wall and canvases painted by Kerry James Marshall that reflect similar episodes from the art domain.
