Abstract

The present article aims to indicate how the black movement and quilombola movement are part of the same struggles context for the scope of recognition, redistribution and political representation in public life for blacks in Brazil. The entrance of the quilombola movement in public national space inextricably linked to the black movement, but also a developer of a specific agenda, pluralized the issues and demands in the public and creates the need for an intercultural dialogue between the two movements. The objective of this paper is to indicate that the relationship between these two movements can be considered from the perspective of intercultural translation theory formulated by Boaventura de Sousa Santos.

  • É interessante observar nos casos estudados que, no Sudeste, esse movimento parece ter mantido tendência mais urbana, com tímida entrada nas comunidades negras rurais, enquanto, no Nordeste, como no caso do Maranhão — mas também conforme se indicou no Pará, no Norte — houve uma forte entrada do movimento negro no meio rural, criando maior vínculo entre esses últimos atores e as comunidades negras, o que foi essencial para a organização do movimento quilombola

  • Dessa maneira o movimento negro urbano, expresso em entidades, particularmente, da Região Sudeste, ao colocar em prática seu projeto educacional com base na “Lei 10.639/2003”, acaba por contribuir para a folclorização do negro quilombola, devido sua abordagem ser amparada por uma ótica mítica, essencialista e determinista sobre o que seria “cultura negra tradicional”

Pode-se afirmar que não há uma interlocução a ponto de enraizar e criar uma relação de parceria entre as entidades representativas dos quilombolas em âmbito estadual, ou seja, entre a Federação N’Golo e o movimento social negro12.
