Abstract
The United States Department of Justice, in cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Departments of Commerce and State, the US Trade Representative, and congressional supporters on both sides of the political aisle, has unveiled a proposed bill to protect corporate proprietary information from economic espionage. The proposed act is officially known as the “Economic Espionage and Protection of Proprietary Economic Information Act of 1996”.
