Abstract

Families are shocked—some times devastated—by the death of a child. The authors, who work in a hospital for chroni cally and terminally ill chil dren, describe how they in tervene with families during bereavement, integration, re newed bereavement, and post death mourning. The article describes, as well the authors' work with bereavement groups and stresses the importance of connecting families to self-help and mutual-aid groups.
