Abstract

AbstractOptical spectra above the Mott transition of excitons are calculated from the inhomogeneous integral equation for the polarization function including self‐energy, screening, and band filling. Taking CdS parameters and adjusted values of the electron‐hole temperature and density, good agreement is achieved with the results of transmission measurements made at room temperature on a thin CdS crystal using two‐beam excite‐and‐probe technique with 5 ps time resolution.
