Abstract
In a single-phase to three-phase electrolytic capacitor-less inverter, the inverter must control not only the motor but also the source current because a power factor correction circuit or energy buffer does not exist. To obtain a sinusoidal source current, a control method that modifies the output voltage directly is proposed. However, the motor current control occasionally becomes unstable because the control method modifies the output voltage to control the source current. To control the source current while considering the motor current response, this paper proposes a motor current regulation based direct DC-link current control. The proposed method enhances the stability of the motor current control system by realizing the sinusoidal source current with the motor current reference modification. The effectiveness of the proposed method is experimentally verified.
