Abstract

This paper deals with the theoretical analysis of motivation in the teaching of the mathematics on the beginner's level with the special focus on the motivation in the teaching of the geometry on the beginner's level. As a significant component of the teaching process, motivation has a very important role in the development of the entire personality and it contributes to a good success at school as an outcome of studying. Therefore, it makes sense to consider it an important teaching aspect which deserves to be studied. The goal that this paper is directed towards is deeper perception of the motivation in the teaching of the geometry on the beginner's level. The paper is structured into two parts. The first one is focused on motivation in the teaching of the mathematics on the beginner's level, while the second and the main part of the paper is dedicated to the motivation in the teaching of the geometry on the beginner's level and in this part only some of the motivational factors such as the role of the teacher, textbooks and mathematical tasks are mentioned. Revision of the relevant research used in this paper has enabled the understanding of the importance of motivation in the geometry teaching on the beginner's level and making conclusions later converted into suggestions on how to create the most adequate pupils' motivation.
