Abstract

We review the results of some recent experiments on the structure and dynamics of globular proteins. Vibrational dynamics of a folded globular protein are probed using inelastic neutron scattering and the experimental dynamic structure factor compared with the results of a normal mode analysis. A strongly denatured, unfolded protein is also examined, using small-angle neutron scattering to probe the chain statistics and quasielastic neutron scattering to examine local diffusive motion.
