Abstract

We study the motion of the Klein-Gordon kink in presence of two particular types of lattice defects. The first type consists of two potential walls of impurities, one of which is oscillating. It is shown that the motion of kink in the presence of these impurities reveals a chaotic behavior. The second type of defects considered consists of discrete potential and dissipative installed microinhomogeneities. We find that such lattice defects give rise to an oscillatory motion for the kink.
