Abstract

We discuss the one-component soliton model for proton transport in hydrogen-bonded molecular chain by perturbation method. The expressions of the mobility, the conductivity, the diffusion constant of kink and the production-rate of kink-antikink pairs have been obtained. We show that the resonant frequency of the kink is equal to the frequency of the OH stretching vibration, the nucleational behaviour is similar to that of the sine-Gordon soliton.
