Abstract

Previous work in structure from motion focused either on two (or more) perspective images or on a set of orthographic (more generally, affine) images. But the studies which are imperative in practice about structure from motion using combination of perspective and orthographic images are seldom seen. This paper presented an investigation on it. Simplified epipolar geometry and a linear algorithm were presented to recover 3D motion and structure between one perspective and one orthographic image from point correspondence. Experiments with artificial data and synthetic images showed that the performance of our technique is effective and stable.
