Motherwort injection with oxytocin in the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage

Abstract

Objective To investigate the Leonuri injection of oxytocin on the preventive effect of postpartum hemorrhage.Methods In our hospital from June 2008 to June 2009,216 cases of vaginal delivery by maternal and randomly divided into two groups,the observation group (injection motherwort with oxytoein group) for 108 eases,post-grant motherwort Injection for 1ml (40mg)+oxytoein for 20U,108 cases of the control group given oxytocin 20U.And to be observed for 2 hours post-partum haemorrhage volume and the number of bleeding patients,and compared the two groups.Results 2 hours post-partum hemorrhage volume (166±41.2) ml,post-partum hemorrhage 24-hour volume (185±45.3) ml,post-partum hacmorrhage in 2 cases;the control group 2 hours post-partum hemorrhage volume (208±34.8) ml,post-partum hemorrhage within 24 hours of (275±42.8) ml,postpartum hemorrhage in 8 cases.Observation group and control group at 2 hours post-partum haemorrhage,a 24-hour comparison of the difference was significant (P＜0.05),the two groups had no significant adverse reactions(P＞0.05).Conclusion Injection motherwort oxytocin to prevent postpartum hemorrhage very good and convenient administration,security,and no significant adverse events.
