Abstract

This paper suggests an approach to eating disorders, based on systemic ideas about problem-dissolving systems and on the concept of feminist relationist work which derives from Social Constructionism and Feminist Theory. The focus of this paper is on the connection and love between mother and daughter. The hypothesis is that the girl's passion for mother and their connection is the healing force in the treatment of eating disorders. The work is concentrated on connecting, sometimes reconnecting, mother and daughter, which requires an intimate therapeutic context and means that most of the sessions involve exclusively the mother-daughter dyad-rather than conjoint family therapy.
