Abstract

Recently in the July 6, 2021 issue of Environmental Science & Technology, Tong et al. estimated health and climate impacts from large-scale long-haul truck electrification. The monetized damages range from a 47%–54% increase to a 77%–88% reduction. However, with adjustments to the marginal emission and static assumptions, impacts are found to be almost certainly positive, a 7%–94% reduction in damages.
