Abstract

The magnitude of the magnetic hyperfine field at the gold site in the Heusler alloy Au2MnAl has been measured as 1.21+or-0.06 MOe at 4.2K, using the Mossbauer effect. The experimental result is compared with the predictions of three theoretical models for hyperfine fields at nonmagnetic sites in 3d transition metal alloys.
