Abstract

Morphometric investigations of some age states of rare, endemic species Taraxacum kok-saghyz Rodin from the family Asteraceae Dumort. carried out in natural populations in valleys of rivers Kegen and Tekes, as well as near Lake Tuzkol of Raiymbek District in Almaty region (Kazakhstan) are given in the article. The maximum was at the virginal age stage in the studied populations. Juvenile, old generative, and subsenile individuals were present sporadically, while senile individuals were absent at all. In transition from immature to middle generative stage, the height of plants increase from 0.5 cm to 7-8 cm, the diameter of crown – from 1.2-1.7 cm to 10 cm, the number of leaves – from 2-3 to 9-11, as well 5-7 flower stalks with length 2,5-12 cm appear.
