Abstract

Kikuchi disease is an uncommon diagnosis that needs to be looked for in reactive lymphoid hyperplasia of unknown cause. It is characterised by increased histiocytes, crescentic histiocytes and apoptotic debris. A knowledge of the cytologic and clinical features can prevent misdiagnosis.
