Abstract

Electrodeposition was used to obtain ZnO films on indium tin oxide (ITO) consisting of microplates with diameter 0.5-2.0 μm and thickness 50-300 nm, which, in turn, consist of two particle fractions: relatively large particles with diameter 20-40 nm and fine particles with diameter of about 5 nm. It was found that the fine particles permit these ZnO films to undergo photoinduced charging. This property of ZnO films markedly affects the kinetics of the photocatalytic reduction of NaAuCl4 by ethanol.
