Abstract

Male and female reproductive systems of Anastrepha suspensa (Loew) are described and illustrated. Examination of ovarioles showed them to be polytrophic. A survey of available literature and dissections of preserved specimens provided a comparison of the number of spermathecae present in 25 species of tephritids.
