Abstract
The morphologies of the precipitating phases in the systems NaClCdCl2, NaClMnCl2, NaClSrCl2, NaClBaCl2, and KClSrCl2 have been observed by optical and replica electron microscopy. Precipitates with a cubic structure and {100}ppt ∥ {100}matrix tend to be cubic or rectangular in shape, whereas the noncubic structures are needle-like.
