Abstract

Mesodiplogaster pseudolheritieri is described and figured. Detailed study of the morphology revealed: the presence of lateral body pores, the dorsal gland opening in the dorsal tooth, special cells in the anterior part of the intestine, intestinal cells with two nuclei, special cells at the transition spermatheca/uterus, and an unpaired papilla on the cloacal flap. A morphometric study showed that a-, b-, c-ratios are unreliable and that the V-ratio is very reliable; it also showed that throughout development the corpus of the oesophagus occupies a constant percentage of the oesophageal length and that the distribution of the papillae on the male tail is constant, depending on body length and independent from spiculum length.
