Abstract
Mercury cadmium telluride (Hg 1− x Cd x Te) semiconductor thin films were grown by an alternative low cost technique namely, electrodeposition, from an aqueous bath. Titanium and nickel metal plates were used as substrates for deposition. The grown films were studied by means of X-ray powder diffraction and their surface morphological features were intensively analyzed by means of scanning electron microscopic technique.
