Abstract

Cadmium sulphide (CdS) thin films were deposited onto glass substrates at room temperature. The analyses of films sample were done by various techniques such as X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and optical absorption. The electrical and thermo-electrical properties are also studied. The X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the film samples are in cubic modification. The optical band gap energy (Eg) of film sample was found to be 2.4 eV. The electrical conductivity of the film sample was found to be in the order of 10 −7 (Ω cm) −1.
