Abstract

This paper aims to confirm the report of Prasiola fluviatilis in Mongolian Altai and describe some previously undescribed morphological features such as a screw-shaped stipe anchored in the mucilage pad strongly adherent to the substrate, and aplanospores. Prasiola fluviatilis could be distributed occasionally in the high mountain regions and possibly be a valuable indicator of the glacial shifts caused by global warming in severely warming regions like Mongolia.
