Abstract

Abstract Objectives This paper discusses the procedures involved in the characterization of two different Nanocomposites like Nylon6, 6/MWNT (Carbon nanocomposite) and Nylon6,6/Cloisite®20A(Clay nanocomposite). Methods/Statistical analysis The morphological structure/characterization of Nylon6, 6 /Nanoclay and Nylon6,6/Multiwall nanotube were studied by means of Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope(HRTEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Different samples were prepared for the above said sophisticated testing instruments and microstructures of the samples were taken. Findings The microstructure of the analyzed samples gave the details of the dispersed reinforcement by the multiwall carbon nanotube with the matrix nylon6, 6. Applications These nanocomposite materials are very useful for automotive components, consumer durable products and sports goods etc.
