Physical Data: mp 121–127 °C. Solubility: partially soluble in CH3CN, CH2Cl2, ClCH2CH2Cl, EtOAc, toluene, and DMF. Reacts slowly with CH3CN and DMF. Form Supplied in: off-white crystalline powder; few commercial sources. Purification: recrystallization from dichloroethane. Handling, Storage, and Precautions: Morpholinodifluorosulfinium tetrafluoroborate is toxic by inhalation, in contact with skin and if swallowed. It is extremely destructive to the tissue of the mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract. It should be used only in a chemical fume hood. Stable under recommended storage conditions (tightly closed container in a dry and well-ventilated place at 2–8 °C). Reacts violently with water.
