Abstract

As a result of field studies conducted in the desert areas of Southeastern Kazakhstan (sandy, saline, rocky and soil deserts), the basis of the ecological group is dendrophages-hardy pests that feed on various organs of the saxaul, oligophages that feed on roots and trunks. Depending on the feeding characteristics of coleoptera, 6 groups of nutrient media have been identified.
According to the number of all registered coleoptera pests, there are: rhizophages, phyllophages, hymenoanthophages, xylophages, carpophages, lymphophages.
The pest affecting various organs of the saxaul registered in the list is coleoptera, among many species of polyphages and oligophages. While most polyphages (Scarabaeidae, Tenobrionidae, Elateridae, Curculionidae) feed mainly on vegetative organs (sprouts, shoots), most oligophages are considered specialized pests.
The article presents the classification system, distribution, brief morphology and bioecological features of saxaul, obtained over the years of research, pest species belonging to different genera of coleoptera pests, which are massively encountered and specialize in different stages of growth.
